Air

Few things in life are as free as the air we breathe. That is no longer so for companies based in countries which have signed the Kyoto Protocol.

As a participant, Malaysia needs to actively work at reducing carbon emissions. This is an issue which organizations and the government need to deal with.

However, everyone can make a difference in ensuring that less pollutants are released into the air. These are steps that all of us can take:

  • Service your vehicle regularly. This will ensure that the car is more fuel efficient (which saves you money) and also reduces the amount of emissions released into the atmosphere.
  • Take public transport or car pool. This saves money on fuel and parking.
  • For short trips, walk or ride a bicycle. There is added value in the excercise conducted.
  • Buy cars which are more economical. They are often cheaper and you save money on fuel.
  • Do not use aerosol sprays. Pump action sprays prevent the release of harmful aerosols into the atmosphere which can decrease the ozone layer.
  • Prevent open burning
