Laws and regulations in the ICT industry are formulated largely by the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC), which was established under the Ministry of Energy, Water and Communications. The MCMC operates as the sole regulatory authority for the communications and multimedia industry. The Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation also establishes policies pertaining to ICT.
